Special thanks to everyone who made the first Bike Nite of the year at the Twisted Spoke in Pendleton, SC (Clemson) so fun! Thanks to Tony for having us and Gary for making us sound so good. Also a special shout out to Chris Worly from Jackyl for coming out and Jeremy Scruggs and Kraig Hayhurst from 440 for sittin’ in while our drummer Aaron stayed in Ohio to welcome his niece to the world!

Florida Wrap-Up

Thanks to everyone who braved the cold to see Lorenzo in St. Pete at The Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon. Over 13,000 people braved the temps that started at 34 degrees but warmed up to near 55 by the time the show and race were over. There was actually a funny story about us and our “Frozen” comment in the TBT (Tampa Bay Times).

After the show, Flo-Rida flew to Los Angeles for the Grammys, JJ, Stuart, and Rob went back to South Carolina and Aaron flew home with the OSU Woman’s Softball team – He would like to pass along a big thanks to SOUTHWEST AIRLINES for that.

Plenty of people came up to us after the show to say “hi” and ask a few questions. So, here is a summary for those who had questions, but were too afraid to ask…

1) Yes, they were all original songs except one
2) The song is called “Shake Your KITTY”
3) “The Truth”, “Not Ready To Say I’m Sorry Yet” and “Nothin Left To Talk About” will be on the new CD to be released in May
4) Yes – we all live in different states

Lorenzo is finally following up their last release, Love Shape Bruise,
produced by Grammy-Nominee and Juno-winner, Kevin Churko
(Ozzy, Hinder, 5-Finger Death Punch) with a new bunch of
songs to be released this spring. Between shows, the guys have
been incredibly busy recording new tracks for their release. They
have worked with 3 great studios and engineers to get the songs
done – Chris “Cookie” Suttle at In The Red Recording Studio
in Dayton, OH, Lucky Powell at Millhill Productions in
Piedmont, SC and Rob Nadler at OLS Productions in Cincinnati, OH.
The songs will be mixed by Kane Churko at The Hideout Studio
in Las Vegas, NV.

The new songs will feature more of the same – great rock songs
that you can’t help but sing along with. Stay tuned for the release
date and tour dates.

Early morning rock and roll

Band members from Savannah’s own General Oglethorpe & the Panhandlers, along with hard rockers Lorenzo were setting up on the parkway near mile 23 by 8:30 a.m. — much earlier than they typically take the stage.

“It’s a little early for rock and roll time,” said Lorenzo bassist Robert Dirr. “Sometimes we’re just getting to sleep around now.”

General Oglethorpe took the stage first, in time to greet the first-place runner about 9:30 a.m., who was leading by about five minutes. Guitarist Devin Smith said they revved up the tempo of their songs a bit to help get the heart rates up as the number of runners steadily increased. The encouragement appeared to be welcomed, Smith said.

“They were running so they can’t say anything, so they just threw rock fists up,” he said.

On a more personal note…

It is with the band’s deepest sympathy to pass on our condolences to the friends and family of a runner we only know as “Tom” at this point, as he passed away in front of the Lorenzo stage on Saturday afternoon. A truly sad and tragic event that you can’t ever prepare for. We unfortunately don’t know more about the runner as the family is requesting privacy during this difficult time.

Rest in peace friend.

We have some info about our show at the Rock-n-Roll Marathon, Savannah. We will playing the stage at the SB Truman Parkway at the Delesseps Offramp. We will be playing somewhere between 10am and 1pm. We will be playing with General Oglethorpe and the Panhandlers so come early and bring some change. It should be a lot of fun – WE GET TO PLAYIN TRAFFIC!

New Record – Update

Well the record is finished! Aaron finished recording the last of his overdubs while Stu and JJ recorded the last of their solo’s. Now the record is being mixed by Chris “Cookie” Suttle at In The Red Recording Studio in Dayton, OH.

We’ve already heard some rough mixes and this is going to be absolutely amazing! We’re re-releasing a lot of the older songs and throwing in some never-before-heard songs as well.

A release date has yet to be set, but we’re pushing for first quarter in 2012. We may release our single, “Nothing Left to Talk About” on the website here and to radio before then. And who knows, maybe we’ll give everyone a little taste of the record in the coming weeks.

We are sad to say, one of our longest standing Lorenzo fans, Josh Denzler passed away this week. No one was more animated and made playing shows in Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky more fun. Our best goes out to all of his family and his many friends as they look at a life a little less colorful.

The next time that you see Lorenzo you will see a little something new…

JJ Woolbright has toured the country with bands such as Spout, Triggerfish, 440, Sweet Crude and Evick. Originally from Seneca South Carolina, JJ hit the road at the age of 16 with his guitar touring and recording with different groups in Atlanta, Nashville, DC, New York, and Los Angeles making a name for himself amongst “Gunslingers” of the highest caliber sharing the stage with guitarists such as Pete Evick, Cory Massi, Stacy Hogan, and Robert Dirr.

At an early age JJ fell in love with the sound of Les Paul guitars and tube amplifiers listening to groups like Guns N Roses, Jackyl, Aerosmith, CCR, Zepplin, Alvin Lee and Ten Years After, Pink Floyd and Thin Lizzy. If you asked him who his favorite guitar players are, he will tell you hands down….Slash and Jeff Worley of Jackyl.

So make sure you come up and introduce yourself to the newest troublemaker in the group!

Aaron in the studio recording drums

This week is the week Lorenzo drummer Aaron Farrier hits the studio to record new drum tracks for all the songs and some new tunes as well!

He is recording at In the Red Recording Studio – A state-of-the-art studio located in Dayton, OH and run by engineer Chris “Cookie” Suttle. Aaron and Cookie have worked on several projects together in the past so it was an obvious choice where the band should track the drums when this idea came up.

Aaron explains, “I can’t wait to record with Cookie again. He gets some amazing drum sounds and is one of the best producers I’ve had the chance to work with. You should hear some of the Lorenzo stuff we’ve already done!”

Official release dates and everything have yet to be announced. Also look for pictures and video clips of Aaron in the studio coming soon!!!
